Internal Links for SEO
The use of internal links is sometimes over looked. Internal links are links that lead your visitors to another one of your pages. Not only are they used considerably for search engines to spider your site but they are also used for SEO. In order to make the most out of internal links you need a good internal link strategy.
Here are some ways to get the most out of your internal links -
1. Don’t use to many External Links - they will redirect attention from your site to the others. At most you should only have about 8 external links on a page.
2. Use Anchor Text - Use you keywords or targeted phrases with your anchor text
3. Boost your Pages - If you are launching a new page use internal links to boost that pages ranking by giving it links from some of your top ranked pages.
4. Make all of your Internal Links Absolute - e.g. “http://www.webtacs.net/page-rank/” instead of “/page-rank/”. If your page gets scraped you will still receive link value to your page.
Another important reason to use internal links is to make it easier for your visitors to find information. They can easily move from one of your pages to another one of your older pages by those internal links.
Links are usually found in your navigation, but you should make a habit of using internal links in your articles & in your footer.
